Dogs are always welcome at Norton Park Hotel, and we’ve taken some of the stress out of planning activities with a furry friend in tow. Here’s a few walks you can go on, by yourself or with man’s best friend…
You'll be pleased to know that you don't have to stray far for a peaceful stroll. We have plenty of land to explore around the hotel, simply head down to The Manor House and the lake, where you'll find our walking signposts.
ST CATHERINE’S HILL
ST CATHERINE’S HILL
20 minute drive
Enjoy stunning views from the top of the hill.
St Catherine’s Hill, named for the vanished 12th century Chapel of St Catherine, is a 2.5 hour walk. Take in the gorgeous Hampshire countryside when you reach the very top of the hill. Dogs are welcome.
TALL TREES TRAILS
50 minute drive
Walk amongst the trees.
This trail, part of New Forest, has an ethereal quality to it. Wander between the oak and ash trees and marvel at the giant redwoods planted by the Victorians in the 1850s. The walk only takes an hour, and dogs are welcome.
RIVER ITCHEN
Meander down the River Itchen.
Enjoy a peaceful walk down this beautiful river. See what wildlife you can spot as you walk – the river is home to otters, dragonflies, and kingfishers, amongst other animals. Dogs are welcome.
NORE BARN WOODS
1 hour drive
Breathe in the fresh air at Nore Barn Woods.
Nore Barn Woods is a beautiful oak and hawthorn forest bordered by a lovely open space full of a wide variety of wildlife. Walk around for as long or as little as you like, there’s plenty to see. Dogs are welcome.
